"How Might We"
Virgin
The two airlines that still operate
in the Virgin network are Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Australia. Virgin Galactic
became the first "Virgin" airline to launch a passenger into space.
Virgin Atlantic was established in 1984 and flies widebody aircraft such as the
A330, A350, and Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner out of its hubs in Manchester and
London Heathrow. It provides both airports with a large selection of
destinations. Zaher Iqbal Abir TP077580
With focal cities in Adelaide, Gold Coast, and Perth, Virgin Australia was
founded in 2000 and operates out of key hubs in Brisbane, Sydney, and
Melbourne. It currently only runs Virgin Australia Regional Airlines in Western
Australia, but it formerly had several sister airlines (Hardiman & Bailey,
2023).
Here are some of the challenges Virgin might be facing using “How Might We”
· How might we make the wait during flights the most exciting part of the trip (Crawford, 2018)?
· How might we create unique and engaging loyalty programs that reward our frequent flyers in innovative ways?
· How might we streamline the check-in and boarding process to reduce stress and wait times for our customers?

Solutions for the proposed “How Might We”(s)
·
r How might we make the wait during flights the most exciting
part of the trip?
o Virgin could improve on their in-flight entertainment systems to keep passengers more entertained and less focused on where they are or how long of the journey is left. With the help of in-flight entertainment systems, traveling by air is made into a unique and engaging experience. A wide range of entertainment options are available to passengers, including as live TV, games, music, movies, and TV shows (Dublin, 2024). They could also include more recent shows and movies so that the passengers from the younger generation can find things closer to their interest. By accommodating a wide range of tastes and preferences, these services make sure that travelers may interact with content they find enjoyable, which enhances and relaxes the travel experience (Dublin, 2024). How might we create
unique and engaging loyalty programs that reward our frequent flyers in
innovative ways?
o If new members receive a special incentive, they are more likely to join again. When clients sign up for the airline loyalty program, prepare a welcome present for them. For example, they may receive bonus miles or a hotel or other business discount (Paul, 2022).
o Secondly, The frequent flyer program that offers rewards to its loyal consumers is the greatest. They serve as the foundation of your company. You have to give them credit for their loyalty, regardless of whether they travel in business or coach. A coupon for their next ticket might be sent to them. Verify that it also applies to locations abroad. A satisfied regular passenger may post about their experience online, drawing additional passengers to your airline (Paul, 2022).
o Don't alter or eliminate anything that functions well. This is valid for benefits that those who visit consistently utilize. Experts advise keeping the previous benefits in place, particularly if they are well-liked by clients. If you remove them, they may become irate and hunt for other airlines. Rather, make the list of advantages longer. Incorporate fresh rewards that could entice someone to join the airline's loyalty program (Paul, 2022). Shabill Addin Anas bin Safril TP078383
· How might we streamline the check-in and boarding process to reduce stress and wait times for our customers?
o
Mobile Check-in and
Digital Boarding Passes: Encouraging customers to use mobile check-in and
digital boarding passes can significantly reduce the need for physical check-in
counters and streamline the process (Smith, 2021).
o
Self-Service
Kiosks: Installing self-service kiosks at airports allows passengers to handle
check-ins, print baggage tags, and make seat changes efficiently. These kiosks
can also offer multilingual support (Jones, 2020).
o
Automated Bag Drop:
Implementing automated bag drop stations where passengers can tag and drop off
their luggage without staff assistance can expedite the check-in process
(Brown, 2022).
· How might we design more comfortable and ergonomic seating
options for both economy and premium class passengers?
o
Lumbar Support: Incorporate
adjustable lumbar support to help maintain the natural curve of the spine. This
can reduce lower back pain and discomfort during long flights (Tsai et al.,
2016).
o
Seat Cushioning: Use memory foam or gel-infused
cushions to enhance comfort by evenly distributing body weight and reducing
pressure points (Gao & Yuan, 2019).
o
Reclining Mechanisms: Design seats
with a slight recline and footrests to allow passengers to change their posture
easily, which can help reduce fatigue (Chowdhury et al., 2017).
o
Breathable Fabrics: Use breathable,
moisture-wicking fabrics to keep passengers cool and comfortable, even during
long flights (Chen et al., 2020).
o
Anti-Microbial Materials:
Incorporate materials that are easy to clean and have anti-microbial properties
to ensure hygiene and passenger health (Ahmed et al., 2018). Abdurasulov Najmiddin TP069840
